From raw data to working product.
I help Australian businesses build data infrastructure and digital products, without the overhead of a full-time hire.
About
I'm Pierre, a Swedish-born data engineer and technical partner based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. I work with companies that need technical expertise without a full-time commitment, helping them move from messy data to reliable, scalable infrastructure, and from product ideas to working software.
My background spans data engineering at Husqvarna Group and Knowit (a Nordic tech consultancy), where I designed pipelines, built AI agents, and cut processing times from hours to minutes. At Husqvarna I was also the foundation of their Enterprise AI department, helping establish the function from the ground up. I've also founded and led an IoT startup through fundraising, building a dev team, and landing early customers. Before that, I spent years in operational roles at large international organisations, which means I understand how businesses actually work, not just how data flows through them.
I have a bias toward getting things working over getting them perfect. I know the difference between “good enough to validate” and cutting corners, and I tend to create pace in teams when momentum stalls.
I work independently through Nordic FrameWorks, which means you get an experienced engineer on your problem, not a junior staffed by an agency.
What I do
Data Engineering
Pipeline architecture, data modelling, and transformation logic built to last and ready to power AI workflows when you get there. I work across the modern data stack: dbt, Dagster, dlt, DuckDB, Python, SQL, with production experience in Databricks and Snowflake. I’ve also built time-series forecasting models, implemented data quality frameworks, and integrated LLMs directly into data platforms.
Technical Partner
Technical involvement without the full-time cost. I embed with founding teams and leadership to make architecture decisions, evaluate vendors, scope products, and build technical roadmaps. This is not consulting at arm’s length. I take co-ownership of the problem and stay involved through execution.
Product Engineering
I bridge the gap between product vision and technical execution. Working closely with founders and product teams, I help scope, architect, and build early-stage digital products, from MVP to something scalable. I’ve done this as a founder and as an external technical partner across several tech startups, so I understand both the startup pressure and the engineering discipline needed to not paint yourself into a corner. Typically this means React/PWA frontends, Supabase or similar backends, and pragmatic decisions that let a small team move fast without accumulating tech debt.
Selected work
Husqvarna Group
Geospatial Pipeline Optimisation
Challenge
A geospatial data pipeline that took 9 hours to run and cost $700 per execution, making iteration slow and expensive.
Result
Redesigned the architecture to bring runtime down to roughly 10 minutes and cost to $17 per run. Fast enough to iterate on. Cheap enough to run on demand.
98% reduction in both time and cost, without sacrificing reliability.
Sefira
Product Engineering
Challenge
A founder with a clear vision for a team-building platform but no technical foundation to build on.
Result
Took the product from idea to production-ready, including security, automation, and AI features. The founder could focus on customers instead of worrying about the tech.
The MVP went on to attract investor interest.
Husqvarna Group
Internal AI Agent
Challenge
Data teams had no easy way to discover which internal datasets were relevant for a given AI initiative, slowing down exploration and decision-making.
Result
Stakeholders could now scope whether internal data actually existed to support an initiative before committing engineering time. Fewer dead ends, less wasted effort.
Better decisions before a single line of implementation code is written.
Swedish National Maritime & Transport Museums
Visitor Forecasting Pipeline
Challenge
The museums needed reliable visitor number forecasts to support planning decisions, but had no data infrastructure or forecasting capability in place.
Result
Built a lean, high-performance pipeline on cost-efficient cloud storage, with forecasting models tuned for seasonal patterns.
Delivered a dashboard stakeholders actually use to make decisions.
How I work
- Engagement types: Project-based or ongoing retainer.
- Capacity: Small number of clients at a time — you get my full attention, not a queue.
- Location: Based on the Sunshine Coast, QLD. Work with clients across Australia and remotely with European companies.
- Languages: English and Swedish.
